HR-Focused Management Training Programme

Objective:
To equip managers with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to handle HR-related responsibilities effectively, ensuring legal compliance, consistency, and good practice across all people-management scenarios. Training to be provided to Michael, Stephen, Joanne and Mark.

Programme Format:
• Delivery: In-person
• Duration: 1-Day Per Month, split into two groups (two managers per session) Can be separated over two 1/2 days.
• Trainer: Senior HR Consultant (CIPD-qualified, with practical management experience)

Core Learning Modules:
1. HR Foundations for Managers
• Understanding your role as a line manager in HR
• Overview of employment law and manager responsibilities
• Employee lifecycle: from induction to exit

2. Managing HR Procedures
• Handling grievances and employee concerns
• The disciplinary process: informal vs formal
• Conducting investigations fairly and consistently
• Absence and performance management processes
• Documenting and recording actions

3. Good Practice in People Management
• Setting expectations and giving feedback
• Conducting difficult conversations with confidence
• Building a positive culture and managing conflict
• Protecting employee wellbeing and spotting red flags

4. HR Process & Compliance
• Following fair procedures and audit trails
• Data protection and confidentiality in HR cases
• Working with HR for support and advice
• When to escalate or seek legal/HR guidance

Requirements for the Scheme

To qualify for Earned Recognition status, operators must undergo a comprehensive audit which reviews several key areas, including:

Legal Compliance

Drivers Hours and Tachographs are effectively managed, analysing infringements, missing mileage & managing repeat offenders.  Drivers have regular licence checks too.

Policies & Procedures

Comprehensive, up-to-date policies consistent with or exceeding regulatory standards.

Maintenance

Regular and thorough vehicle inspections and timely repairs, documented meticulously.

Safety Records

Demonstration of a robust safety culture, including records of incident reporting and subsequent actions taken.
